Tai'an in East China's Shandong province was recognized as one of the top 10 "cities of beauty" in China for its natural landscape, according to a list released at the China Good Life City (2020-21) event on April 23.

The event was organized by the Central Radio and Television Station, the National Bureau of Statistics, China Post Group, and Peking University's National School of Development.

The list was based on surveys of 100,000 households from more than 150 cities, in which respondents rated their cities on comprehensive indicators like sense of happiness, livelihood security, business environment, as well as public service capability.

Tai'an boasts numerous tourismm resources. Known as "Chief of the Five Sacred Mountains," Mount Tai has long been a symbol of the Chinese national spirit and a national treasure.

Combing magnificent natural views, as well as a long and renowned history and culture, it has been included on the list of world natural and cultural heritages by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Ta'an has made great progress in promoting its natural environment in recent years. Mount Tai is currently home to 348 varieties of wild birds. In 2020, the forest coverage rate of Tai'an reached 25.47 percent.

The urban and rural areas of the city are becoming increasingly beautiful. The quality of life for residents and the level of urban civilization are constantly improving.
