The 2019 Mount Tai International Racing Pigeon Industry Expo was held on Dec 5 in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province.

Many industry heavyweights attended the expo, including Istvan Bardos, president of Federation Colombophile Internationale, Agnes Horvath, advisor to the federation, and Xing Xiaoquan, president of the Chinese Racing Pigeon Association.

Istvan announced that the World Championship Intercontinental One Loft Race and FCI One Loft Race would be held in Tai'an.

The Tai'an government, Chinese Racing Pigeon Association, and two Beijing-based racing pigeon companies also signed a cooperation framework agreement to develop a racing pigeon cultural and sports center in Tai'an.

Cheng Li, vice mayor of Tai'an, said that pigeon racing has gradually transformed into an entire industry that focuses on the feeding, training, and trading of pigeons.

Cheng added that Tai'an will continue to increase efforts to develop the racing pigeon industry and build an international communication platform for the industry so as to turn the pigeon – which represents peace, friendship, and unity – into a symbol of Tai'an.

The award ceremony for the 2020 "Triumph Award" of the Chinese Racing Pigeon Association will also be held in Tai'an. The Triumph Award is the most authoritative and prestigious award in the country for pigeon racing.
