A PhD student at Shanxi University’s Institute of Laser Spectroscopy has made a big splash in the field of quantum research recently after publishing a paper about the latest findings of his group’s research on quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) in Nature’s open access journal, Light: Science & Applications (LSA) as the lead author.

The group, composed of researchers from Shanxi University and Tsinghua University, presented a new practical QSDC protocol and firmly demonstrated the feasibility of quantum secure direct communication in the presence of noise and loss in the experiment.

It is the first time that this block transmission has been demonstrated.

Nature Publishing Group (NPG) mentioned the article in its Latest Research Summary column and highly praised its findings.

The work has gained recognition from both home and abroad and has already been cited eight times since it was first submitted on the repository of electronic pre-prints arXiv.org on Mar 2, 2015.

LSA is an open-access, online-only journal affiliated to NPG. It is a world-leading academic publisher in optics and photonics, and is often considered the second most prestigious optics-specific journal in the world.
