QINGDAO - At least two people were confirmed dead, and over 10 others were injured after a gas explosion occurred in a hotel in East China's Qingdao early Tuesday morning.

The explosion occurred at about 5 am in a Xizhong Chain Hotel in the southern district of Qingdao, Shandong Province. The injured have been rushed to hospital. None of them sustained life-threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
