With the drive to develop a "blue economy" in China, Qingdao launches many construction plans. Eighteen new roads will be constructed. The forests along both sides of the road and municipal pipe network projects will be implemented simultaneously, and 70 percent of the roads are expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

Meanwhile, the spring river scenic improvement project in Qingdao will be accelerated to ensure completion by the end of June. Qingdao’s spring river scenic improvement project will become a marine landscape leisure attraction featuring ecological leisure, fitness, industrial development and tourism facilities. In addition, the Nanbo River landscape improvement project in Qingdao will be completed by the end of 2015. It will become a seaside ecological corridor with ecological nature, leisure and tourism attractions.

Qingdao will make river regulation plans and remediate the small bay shorelines. The right to use maritime space in Qingdao is expected to be approved by the State Oceanic Administration by the end of 2015. The Qingdao marine theme park has an investment of 300 million yuan ($49.49). It will be a comprehensive marine theme park.

The core area of Qingdao Blue Silicon Valley will promote new community construction to ensure the completion of six communities, including Jing Tuan, Xinmin, Anyuan, Beiping, Xingshizhuang and Shuibo, before National Day in 2015. Three community construction projects, including Xiwen, Dinggezhuang and Zhenhai, were started in the first quarter of 2015.
