Dandong Lingang Industrial Park signed an agreement with Liaoning Jinhai Group and Taiwan Peien Group to build an international "double-track" school in Dandong New Area on Dec 13, Dandong Daily reported.

Dai Yulin, secretary of the Dandong municipal Party committee, addressed the signing ceremony. He said Dandong enjoys a unique and advantageous geographic location as a leading city in the eastern part of Northeast China. As an important international transportation hub in Northeast Asia, Dandong has huge potential and good prospects.

The city has a tradition of respecting teachers and emphasizing education. It has cultivated many talented professionals, and has over 10,000 high middle school graduation students to pursue college studies across the country each year.

The new international school will help Dandong improve urban functions, optimize international supporting environment and speed up the city's internationalization, Dai added.

The school will operate together with the American Ender International Education Institute. Bilingual education will be provided for primary school students for six years. Junior high and senior high school students will also receive bilingual education for another six years.

Students graduating from the school will receive school credit recognized by United States higher education institutes. They can apply for universities in North America, Europe and Asia after graduation.

The school plans to enroll students in 2013.
