Family Award – Mao Xunyi

Mao Xunyi, a student at the city's Sanxing Primary School, has had to take family responsibility from an early age. Mao's parents are divorced and her father works in another city, leaving Mao and her grandmother at home alone. Previously, Mao's grandmother had suffered a stroke and so she looks after her and does the housework every day, while at the same time performing well in school.

Since 2003, the city of Zhangjiagang has honored more than 2,000 moral models, with one citizen even receiving the title of a national moral model and another four entering provincial level.
