A high-quality diaper project was put into practice by Dawang (Nantong) Household Products Co in the Nantong Economic and Technology Development Area (NETDA) on March 25. The high-quality diaper project is situated in the Healthy Industrial Park of NETDA, covering an area of 80 acres (5.33 hectares). The project specializes in producing high-quality diapers for babies with an investment of $240 million. It is expected that production will reach 2 billion yuan ($3.22 billion) annually once the project is successfully completed. The establishment of the project has created a new field of high-quality household products and has helped improve new industries in the development area, which is significant for transformation and upgrade.

The project is financed by Dawang Company. Advanced technology, more testing procedures and higher-quality standards will be used in the project for automatic production, which will help generate associated industries and industry clusters, as well as strengthen the industry chain.

  • The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
