The world's first buoyant tower drilling platform was completed in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) on July 27.
The buoyant tower drilling platform project’s major contracting unit is Wison Marine Engineering. It only took the company 11 months to finish the project. The drilling platform will be shipped to Corvino oil field in Peru offshore.
The project’s buoyant tower technology was invented originally by Wison. It is the first application of the technology in the world. In addition, the project completion time was shorter than all other projects of the same kind, with no worker injuries.
Wison Marine Engineering is a contractor and appliance manufacturer of marine oil and gas exploration. Wison has an engineering design and international project executive team in their Shanghai and Houston headquarters. The company also has manufacturing bases in Nantong and Zhoushan.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
