The district has established a national production and processing base for nuclear fuel, one of two bases of its kind in China and the first production line for commercial spherical fuel elements in the world.

Qingshan district is home to approximately 50 squares, parks and gardens. Public green spaces such as Laodong Park (Labor Park), the Galaxy (Yinhe) Plaza, Northern Weaponry Park and Saihantala Ecological Park can be found there. The district’s total green area covers 2,160 hectares and the per capita public green area 15.5 sq m.

The district will make efforts to establish an equipment manufacturing industrial base in its central and western regions and a national production and processing base of nuclear fuel elements. It will also develop an ecological and livable urban area, to build a prosperous, civilized, harmonious and beautiful Qingshan district, according to local authorities.
