Ruzhou Experimental Elementary School in Ruzhou, central China's Henan province, held an awards ceremony for "virtuous teenagers" on Dec 18.

Yang Huixing, deputy head of the standing committee of the Ruzhou municipal people's congress, Guo Jie, the city’s deputy mayor, and Zhang Guiming, member of the Party leadership group of Ruzhou municipal CPPCC committee, handed out awards to 25 winners.

Guo addressed the teens and urged them to adhere to their own principles and also to Chinese traditional values.

He also urged teachers to guide the students - and clarify their rights and responsibilities - so that they can adapt to society as they enter young adulthood.
