Ruzhou stresses school bus safety

A group composed of the chairman and vice-chairmen of the Ruzhou municipal committee of the CPPCC and members of its Party leadership group conducted an official visit to Ruzhou, Henan province, to learn about school bus administration on Nov 29.

Guo Jie, vice-mayor of Ruzhou, together with other officials, accompanied the visitors.

Led by Chen Guozhong, chairman of the Ruzhou municipal committee of the CPPCC, the group stopped in the city’s four schools, including the Qingyuan School, Ruzhou No 9 Middle School and Tianying Boarding School.

On-the-spot inspections of school buses, canteens, dormitories and surroundings were carried out by the group.

They also expressed their interest in better understanding school and faculty development.

Education is significant to Ruzhou’s economic and social development, said Chen. School bus safety is an issue that matters to families.

During the visit, he shared his opinions and advice in regards to the school bus administration.

He urged people to publicize school bus safety and improve the public’s awareness by utilizing various media channels.

In addition, Ruzhou should prioritize school bus administration based on the efforts of related departments and social support.

He also stressed supervision, cooperation and coordination of the issue.

Guo briefed Ruzhou’s school bus administration at a meeting afterwards. The number of public and private schools in the city totaled 421 and 351, respectively. A total of 74 school buses have been bought to date; 67 of them have obtained school bus license plates.
