About 50 cultural activities will be held in Ruzhou during Spring Festival to further enrich the holiday for citizens and create a harmonious atmosphere.

A Spring Festival evening party organized by the municipal Party committee and municipal government will be held at Ruzhou Theatre on the evening of Feb 5, 2013. A folk culture match will start at 9 am on Feb 21 in front of the municipal Party committee building.

An opera fan competition organized by the municipal culture broadcast bureau will be conducted at Ruzhou Theatre on Feb 12. There will also be a three-day opera show from Feb 23 to 25 performed by outstanding groups recommended by local towns and streets. The show will be performed in the square in Ruzhou Theatre.

There will be a yangko (a popular rural folk dance) and waist drum competition on Feb 14 at the square in Ruzhou Theatre. On Feb 19, a weiqi (a kind of Chinese chess) competition will be held in the Weiqi Club. A lantern show will be arranged from Feb 22 to 25 along Guang Cheng Road, Chao Yang Road, Wang Song Road and Guang Yu Road. A painting and calligraphy show organized by the literary federation and culture broadcast bureau will be arranged from Feb 21 to 26.
