Symposium on Fengxue Temple's Zen culture held in Ruzhou

On July 31, a symposium on the Zen culture of Fengxue Temple, held in the conference room of the Tianruizhongzhou International Hotel, organized a discussion between scholars of Ruzhou and nationally famous Buddhism experts. Wang Yingmin, member and secretary of the Ruzhou Party Committee, Vice Mayor Yilihamu Silamu, and Zhang Guimin attended the symposium.

Wang thanked the experts and scholars for their participation and introduced the general situation, history and culture of Ruzhou to the participants. Wang noted the three-day symposium was important to the “Cultural City” project and had the support of the party committee, Ruzhou government and famous Buddhism experts.

At the symposium, scholars and contributors made speeches and had discussion and analysis on the Zen culture of Fengxue Temple in greater depth. Those in attendance were: Professor Ma Tianxiang from the philosophy school of Wuhan University; Professor Xu Wenming from the philosophy and sociology school of Beijing Normal University; Professor Liu Chengyou from the philosophy and religious school of Minzu University of China; Lu Haishan, an editor for a publishing house specializing in ancient Henan books; and various other scholars.
