According to the Ruzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, Ruzhou residents won 19 prizes (including seven first-place prizes) in the “National Martial Arts Hometown” Competition. Eleven contestants from Ruzhou returned home gloriously on August 1.

Ruzhou was one of the first designated "National Martial Arts Hometowns" conferred by the former National Sports Commission in 1992. This year marked the seventh year that Ruzhou has participated in the contest. Following Ruzhou’s invitation in April, the city selected talented candidates to prepare through arduous and focused training.

The ninth "National Martial Arts Hometown" Competition was held in Yubei district in Chongqing from July 20 to July 22. Eleven contestants from Ruzhou competed with more than 800 martial arts practitioners from 81 delegations, ultimately receiving 19 prizes. Huo Xiangye and six other contestants received first-place prizes, three contestants won second-place prizes, and nine contestants got third place.
