A joint group from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Ministry of Finance visited Ruzhou on July 16 to investigate transformed dilapidated rural housing.

The group went to Mimiao Village, Yumiao Village, and Yushuchen Village in Mimiao Town, and held talks with locals whose houses are dilapidated to understand their difficulties in transforming their housing, the standard of government subsidy, and living and production conditions.

In Mimiao Village, an old woman surnamed Yang, 86, said to the group: “I am so thankful that the Party and government have built new house for me. I will never worry about the leakage any more.”

The group was led by Wang Xinhuai, the inspector of the local department of National Development and Reform Commission. Chen Huaping, deputy director-general of Henan Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau; Wan Ying, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Ruzhou; Cui Xinfa, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and other officials accompanied the group’s visit.
