On the evening of Jan 14, a party for the coming Spring Festival was held at Ruzhou Gehua Kaiyuan Hotel, with over 200 people in attendance.

Li Quansheng, the party secretary of Ruzhou, welcomed his fellow-townsmen living in Beijing and sent his sincere blessings to them, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal People’s Congress, the Ruzhou government, and the Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He also invited the fellow-townsmen to return to their hometown to see the rapid development there, and expressed his thanks for the contributions they make for Ruzhou. Li stressed that Ruzhou will leap to become the second key city among the central cities during the 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015), aiming to make the city developed and harmonious.

Lv Ding, the director of the Confidential Department of the Headquarters of the General Staff, delivered a speech as a representative of fellow-townsmen in Beijing. He said they were very proud of the fast development in their hometown, though he does not come back frequently due to his busy work.
