Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province in southwestern China, is located in the eastern part of the Yunnan-Guizhou plateau.


The city of Guiyang maintains its steady and fast economic growth with the support of a new model of industrial system featuring big data, modern agriculture, automotive manufacturing, service and high-tech industries. The government seeks to boost the local economy through innovation.

In 2020, Guiyang's GDP reached 431.17 billion yuan ($66.74 billion), up 5 percent year-on-year. The added value of the primary industry was 17.83 billion yuan, up 6.4 percent year-on-year, secondary industry was valued at 155.26 billion yuan, up 5.5 percent year-on-year, and tertiary industry was valued at 258.08 billion yuan, up 4.4 percent year-on-year.

In 2020, Guiyang's paid-in investment was valued at 143.22 billion yuan and foreign investment in actual use was valued at $2.02 billion, up 12.5 percent year-on-year.

Administrative divisions

Guiyang governs one county-level city - Qingzhen, three counties - Kaiyang, Xifeng and Xiuwen, and six districts - Wudang, Nanming, Yunyan, Baiyun, Guanshanhu and Huaxi.
