A charity activity titled “Run to Give 2016” including a bazaar and running, was held in Guiyang on Oct 16, where 30,000 yuan ($4,445) was raised.

The activity attracted a total of 200 participants including amateur runners, philanthropists and staff members from the Sheraton Guiyang Hotel.

The money will be donated to the World of Art Brut Culture (WABC), an NGO that helps the intellectually impaired develop their artistic potential through training programs.

The NGO also tries to raise public attention to the artistic gifts of people with special needs through exhibitions, charity bazaars and other activities.

Roger Ding, general manager of the Sheraton Guiyang Hotel, expressed his hopes that the event would help overcome prejudice and discrimination towards people with special needs.
