Guiyang's public facilities will undergo an upgrade in the next three years to improve the city's traffic conditions and public facilities for local residents.

Approximately 200 million yuan ($33 million) will be allocated to improving traffic conditions and sanitation facilities in the city in 2015.

According to a survey, Guiyang – the capital of southwest China's Guizhou province - currently has 230 roads in need of repair and maintenance, covering an area of 1.25 million square meters.

Meanwhile, 3 public toilets located in Zhucheng Square, Dade Primary School and No.6 Middle School of Guiyang will be upgraded and 1,300 more dustbins and sealed collection tanks will be added to the city.

70 percent of the proposed maintenance work is expected to be completed before May 31.
