Located in the middle of Guizhou province, Nanjiang Grand Canyon was known as “the World Karst Ecology Museum”. Featuring spectacular karst canyon scenery, diverse waterfall groups and superior ecological environment, the Canyon has numerous steep hills on both banks, making the valley more fascinating. The Canyon is of brilliant aesthetic and scientific value combining mountains, waters, cliffs, forests, rocks, peaks, creeks, springs, waterfalls and trees.

White-water rafting is the most thrilling attraction for energetic travelers to the canyon. There are numerous fascinating peaks, caves and breathtaking shoals along the river. In the scenic area of Ladder Cliff, the steep banks sandwiching the narrow river appear to have been chopped by a giant axe. At the end of an 800-metre-long funnel-shaped section, the river becomes so narrow that the branches of the trees growing on opposite banks overlap. One of the waterfalls, Bell Waterfall, is a typical travertine fall. The 30-metre-high rock from where the water gushes down conceals a limestone cave, which allows visitors to “enter the rock” and watch the falling water from within.

In the Canyon area live Buyi, Miao and other ethnic groups with their unique customs and cultures, adding a lovely flavor of humanity to the scenic zone.

The food at Nanjiang Grand Canyon absorbs the Guizhou food’s characteristics of “being hot, sour, fragrant and refreshing”. Besides, the selenium-rich food is the best choice for tourists since the Canyon is located in the area known as the “land of farm products containing rich selenium in China”.

The hotels here are surrouded by green mountains with beautiful scenery. They are designed to meet visitors’ demands with various levels such as high-end, medium and ordinary ones with thoughtful service.

The Nanjiang Grand Canyon scenic zone has many leisure programs, like ethnic dancing performance, camp fires, barbecue, KTV, chess rooms, tea houses, archery, floating resorts, sauna and lavipeditum and so on.
