Gansu announced the launch of an agricultural science and technology innovation alliance at the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences on Nov 1.

As of now, some 44 enterprises have joined the alliance, including 15 provincial level scientific research institutes and 23 Gansu-based agricultural enterprises. As a platform opening to the agriculture industry, the alliance is expected to attract more research institutes and enterprises to join.

Ouyang Jian, deputy secretary of Gansu province, attended the alliance launching ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Ouyang stressed the importance of innovation in agriculture and said he hoped that more scientific and technological achievements in agriculture would be achieved. He also called on agricultural industries to attach importance to the utilization of advanced technology in production.

The Gansu provincial government aims to promote the adoption of modern technology in the province by constructing a platform with three functions: innovation cooperation, resource sharing and information service.
