Lanzhou listed in top 10 happiest provincial capitals in China

Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province has come in fifth in a national survey ranking the happiest provincial capitals in China.

The list, compiled by China Central Television (CCTV), canvassed more than 100,000 families across the country on issues such as health, income and marriage, as well as analyzing information from the Internet.

Changsha in Hunan province was rated as the happiest provincial capital in the country, followed by Wuhan of Hubei province and Hefei of Anhui province.

The happiness prospects for the entire nation looked good overall with 50.81 percent of respondents across China feeling happy, of which 16.11 percent felt very happy and 34.7 percent felt relatively happy.
