A shehuo troupe in Yongdeg county, Lanzhou city, Gansu province put on a performance for the forest brigade division of the armed police, on Feb 20. The show took place to express appreciation for the good work carried out by the police service, xinhuanet.com reported.
Shehuo refers to various acrobatic performances including dragon dances, walking on stilts, land boats, yangko (a rural folk dance) and waist drums. It can be traced back to ancient rituals held by the Han ethnic group to worship the earth for good luck.
