"I find Gansu's long history and splendid culture are amazing," said Daniel Boone, a 27-year-old Canadian tour guide in Gansu province.

Daniel came to Peking University in 2006 to study archaeology. "Gansu's culture and history give me the sense of belonging, and among all the cities in Gansu, I like Dunhuang most for its Mogao Grottoes and interesting historical stories," he said.

Daniel's daily work is receiving American and Canadian tourist groups and arranging their trips in Gansu.

Daniel said that more and more foreigners have visited Gansu province in recent years, and the biggest attractions for them are both natural and cultural, such as the Maijishan Grottoes in Tianshui city, the Danxia landform in Zhangye city and the Gate Tower in Jiayuguan city. Gansu's red wine is also a popular souvenir among the visitors.

"Although sometimes I am too busy in my job to eat or sleep, I feel happy when the tourists are satisfied with my presentations about the sites," said Daniel.
