Journalists and photographers from dozens of media organizations started a three-day tour in Tianshui, a historic city in Gansu province on Sept 22.

The media will visit the economic and technological zone and Qingshui county to report on local agriculture, e-commerce and culture. Participants will also tour attractions such as Fu Xi Temple, and Maiji Mountain to reveal the beauty of Tianshui.

Wang Zhengmao, the director of Tianshui publicity department said that Tianshui has a high reputation for its long history, as it sits along Silk Road and is the origin of Chinese civilization. Fu Xi, the legendary Chinese emperor during the Neolithic Age, was born there.

"We expect that this trip can help media personnel understand and cover Tianshui"  Wang added.

Tianshui was selected as an important stop of the media tour in Gansu, which also included Lanzhou, Dunhuang and Zhangye.

The ten-day activity kicked off on Sept 21 with the aim of revealing the full aspects of Gansu, especially the province's role in the Belt and Road Initiative, which refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, organizers said.
