Jingyuan holds training session to promote e-commerce

Jingyuan county government, of Baiyin city, held a training session related to e-commerce businesses recently. The event has attracted the participation of 200 youths who intended to start their own businesses.

The county has invited Zhang Haicang, vice-director of Beijing Zhongguancun Ruizhi College Students' Entrepreneurship Research Institute and Zhang Yihang, manager of the Zhejiang Shopping Mall to detail the e-commerce development in counties, and also highlight the trend and management of e-commerce.

In recent years, E-commerce business has evolved into a key economic growth point for Jingyuan county. So far, there are 439 Taobao retail shops, among which the individual shops exceed 90 percent. Among 124 companies' shops, 55 companies have made online transactions in the form of business to business (B2B) on Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce platform.

The county has developed cooperative relations with several e-commerce giants to speed up e-commerce industry. For example, the e-commerce enterprise Jingdong has opened Jingdongbang Service Shop there, which deals with appliance distribution and after sales in rural areas.

According to Alibaba Research Institute's e-commerce development index of counties, Jingyuan county ranks 13 around Gansu province. According to local government, the e-commerce is looking forward to converting economic growth mode from extensive to intensive types.
