To assemble the necessary works, the association held a calligraphy solicitation and competition and got more than 1,100 works, 133 of which were from members of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Chinese Artists Association. There were also 300 works from members of the province’s calligraphers association and artists association.

For the competition, three of the exhibited works, on display at the association's youth center, got a special award and 30 got an excellence award and association members have decided to compile a book featuring the exhibited works. The exhibition ran for 15 days and had the support of the county publicity department and the calligraphy association, as well as Beijing's Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Magazine.
