Guazhou county, in Gansu province was listed in the top 100 counties around the country for its development of the new energy industry, at the annual meeting of China’s new energy industry development, which was held at the China National Center, Sept 26-28, in 2014.

Guazhou county has held on to this honor for four consecutive years. Additionally, this year, Guazhou county’s wind power industry park was nominated as “2014 China New Energy Industry Park”, with the Guazhou Party secretary, Ma Shilin, nominated as “2014 pioneer of China’s New Energy Industry”.

The award reflects Guazhou county’s achievements in pushing forward its new energy projects and in developing its low carbon economy.

So far, it attracted six wind power companies investing more than 4 billion yuan (around $650 million) for the installation of 5MW of wind-generated energy capacity and a 4.05 MW grid. And the wind-generated energy project has profited by more than 13 billion yuan, with the 25.81 billion kWh of electric production, and 25.26 billion kWh of on-grid energy.

China’s new energy industry development meeting is held annually by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, intending to encourage regional new energy development and promote a sustainable economy.
