The 11th Session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee designated December 4 as National Constitution Day on Nov 1, 2014.

On Dec 4, 1982, the fifth Session of the fifth NPC Standing Committee passed the current Constitution of the People’s Republic of China. 

A constitution is the fundamental law of a state, the general rules for national work, bearing the highest legal status, authority and effect.
