They touched on issues of marriage, employment, land, assets, personal rights, child custody and the sexual assault of children.

According to Gao Shawei, head of ACWF's rights and interests department, the ten cases were jointly selected by ACWF, the China Women Judges Association, the Women Procurator Association and Women Lawyers Association. The cases have each set a legal precedent in protecting women and children.

They also show coordination and cooperation among departments, law enforcement agencies and social organizations, according to Gao.

Tan Lin, director of ACWF’s secretariat, expressed her hope for relevant departments to learn from the cases and protect women’ and children’s rights more effectively to achieve gender equality.

More cases will be publicized in the future, Tan added.
