The Youzhu Warehouse of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company has obtained the three-star zero-carbon warehouse certificate and plaque after an authoritative review. This is the highest-level zero-carbon certification in the power warehousing industry and makes the company a national model for zero-carbon warehousing, while also marking a milestone in the development of the company's green supply chain.

As a core hub for power grid material support, Youzhu Warehouse is responsible for grid construction, operation and maintenance, emergency material reserve, and recycling and disposal of retired power equipment, underpinning the safe and stable operation of the local power grid.

To adhere to the national "dual carbon" strategy, State Grid Zhejiang targeted shortcomings such as high energy consumption, aging equipment and low resource utilization in traditional warehousing, using the Lishui Youzhu Warehouse as a testing ground for green, intelligent and low-carbon upgrades.

The upgrades were implemented in strict accordance with national zero-carbon warehouse star-rating standards, covering more than 100 quantitative indicators to explore a replicable zero-carbon development model suitable for mountainous power grid areas.

Comprehensive energy-saving renovations were completed on the warehouse's building structures, while optimized green layouts regulate indoor microclimates, effectively reducing building energy consumption and laying a solid foundation for the reduction of carbon emissions.

To increase green energy use and further cut carbon emissions, idle warehouse roofs are equipped with distributed photovoltaic systems, providing clean power for office operation, equipment work and daily facility use.

All fuel-powered machinery has been replaced by zero-emission lithium-ion forklifts with supporting charging facilities. Meanwhile, new energy vehicles have fully replaced traditional diesel trucks for outbound transportation and last-mile delivery, forming a full-process low-carbon logistics system.

Digital empowerment further boosts low-carbon development. The warehouse upgraded its intelligent management system with IoT energy monitoring and AI-powered inventory terminals, achieving real-time energy data tracking and traceable carbon ledger management.

A full-chain waste material recycling and reuse mechanism was established to maximize asset utilization and reduce resource waste.

Moving forward, State Grid Zhejiang will further optimize the deployment of green equipment and refine green supply chain management. By carrying out green warehousing upgrades, it will contribute to China's dual carbon strategy and empower the high-quality green development of the local economy and society.
