Green power empowers Green Dingxi initiative
State Grid Dingxi Electric Power Co (State Grid Dingxi) has focused on the theme "Green Transformation Builds a Beautiful China", launching promotional activities through exhibition boards, consultation desks, and the distribution of materials on grid environmental protection. These efforts have further mobilized society to embrace the concept of conserving nature.
The company has integrated ecological protection into every stage of grid planning, construction, and operation, using clean energy to preserve Dingxi's lush mountains and clear waters, delivering a successful model of synergy between energy transition and environmental stewardship.
Adhering to the principle of "ecology first, green construction", the company has adopted eco-friendly practices such as factory prefabrication, mechanized on-site assembly, and solar-powered bird deterrent systems. It implements measures like the immediate cleanup of construction waste and the ecological restoration of temporary land use, minimizing vegetation damage and soil erosion.
As a result, power lines can traverse mountainous terrain without compromising environmental integrity. To date, all newly launched 110 kilovolts-and-above grid projects have maintained a 100 percent environmental impact assessment rate, while all completed projects have achieved a 100 percent acceptance pass rate.
Based on Dingxi’s abundant wind and solar resources, the company is building an integrated source-grid-load-storage system, transforming renewable resources into ecological economic advantages. Since 2024, 875 megawatts of new renewable capacity have been connected to the grid in Dingxi, generating 8.32 billion kilowatt-hours of wind and solar power — continuing to lead the region’s energy structure with clean energy.
By applying AI computing power to build a distributed photovoltaic output forecasting platform, the company enables the real-time monitoring, measurement, and adjustment of photovoltaic stations across the city, maintaining a stable renewable energy utilization rate above 98 percent. Every gust of wind and ray of sunlight is now harnessed into strong energy driving the vision of green mountains and clear waters.
In September 2025, the company completed the city’s first “Smart Energy, Zero-Carbon” substation, equipped with a 50-kilowatt distributed photovoltaic system, a 60-kW energy storage system, and an integrated charging station, forming a microgrid that achieves self-sufficiency in green power — setting a benchmark for low-carbon development.
Fulfilling its ecological responsibilities, the company promotes public participation in green, low-carbon lifestyles. The State Grid Gansu's service team visits communities, schools, and commercial districts, conducting themed lectures, interactive Q&A sessions, and fun games to popularize knowledge on electricity conservation and carbon reduction, addressing public concerns about environmental safeguards in grid construction. Through science education programs such as the "Journey of One Kilowatt-Hour" held in the Power Classroom, they plant seeds of green development. Collaborating with local police, forestry, and grassland authorities, the team conducts inspections along transmission lines near forests, scenic areas, and water source protection zones, eliminating equipment hazards and safeguarding ecological security.
With green mountains and clear waters as its canvas, State Grid Dingxi remains committed to ecological protection, safeguarding Gansu's natural foundation through responsible power delivery.
