Quzhou, Zhejiang: Power line upgrade ensures summer supply
With the summer peak-demand season approaching, State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Co (State Grid Quzhou) has been organizing construction crews to carry out line upgrading and renovation work in Xinqun village, Shimen town, Jiangshan, to ensure safe and stable grid operation. The work ensures power supply and lays a solid foundation for stable electricity operation during the summer peak load period.

At the renovation site in Xinqun village, power workers removed old conductors, installed new hardware, and tightened line connections. By replacing old conductors with insulated conductors, optimizing line routes, and installing intelligent switches, the power supply capacity and resilience against severe weather have been improved.
"The electricity load from residential and agricultural users around this line has grown rapidly. The original lines were prone to overloading during periods of high summer temperatures and heavy demand. After the renovation, the power supply radius is more reasonable, and the line current-carrying capacity has nearly doubled," explained the person in charge at the worksite.
To minimize disruptions, the company developed a detailed construction plan and used measures such as transferring loads to other lines and deploying mobile generator trucks, allowing most work to be carried out without interrupting power supplies to residents.
The line upgrade is part of State Grid Quzhou's summer preparations. The company will continue to intensify inspections and remediation of heavily overloaded lines and aging transformer districts, accelerate grid reinforcement projects, and simultaneously strengthen emergency repair preparedness. With a more robust grid and higher-quality service, the company is committed to ensuring power for the economic and social development and residents' daily lives during the summer heat.
