Morning market thrives with reliable electricity

At dawn, lights flicker on at the Lanshan Convenience Morning Market in Anding district, Dingxi, Gansu province.

Vendors set up their stalls, firing up steamers, lights, and refrigerators. The aroma of cooking mixes with the hum of machines, creating a lively atmosphere.

To ensure electrical safety for small merchants, State Grid Anding District Power Supply Company sent frontline teams to inspect user-side hazards before the market opened, delivering real protection to local businesses and residents.

This market, relocated from the old Xiguan Market, mainly hosts mobile vendors and individual shops. Common problems include temporary power connections, unauthorized wiring, overloaded strips, and cables lying on wet ground. Morning dampness further heightens the risk of leakage and short circuits.

Simple patrols proved ineffective. In response, the company shifted from blanket inspections to deep user-level engagement, checking each stall and shop to identify and fix hazards.

Hazards found during inspections were corrected on-site when possible. For issues needing follow-up, detailed recommendations were given, and merchants received hands-on guidance on proper wiring and safe practices, ensuring all risks were eliminated.

A breakfast shop owner expressed relief after the inspection, noting that with many steamers and cookers running each morning, he had always worried about tripped breakers and leakage from temporary wiring. Seeing the neatly reorganized lines, he felt completely at ease.

During inspections, staff also shared safety tips tailored to the market's busy schedule, diverse equipment, and morning dampness, reminding merchants to shut off power when unattended, ground all devices, and keep lines away from water — combining education with inspection to bring increased safety awareness to the merchant community.

To strengthen the market's electrical safety, the company set up a rapid-response mechanism for morning market issues.

The power supply station's hotline was posted on the bulletin board, and contact information for key merchants was kept on file, creating a green channel for power inquiries and fault reports.

During peak morning hours, dedicated staff remained on standby to fix minor problems on-site and respond immediately to emergencies, ensuring zero interruptions and zero hazards.

Where daily livelihoods thrive, electricity serves with care. Moving forward, State Grid Anding will continue focusing on the electricity needs of the market and small-businesses, closely tracking seasonal and daily usage patterns.

By making user-side safety inspections a routine service and providing targeted, customized power support, the company will safeguard urban vitality through refined, practical measures — empowering local commerce with reliable electricity.
