State Grid Suzhou ensures stable power for Jiangsu City Football League
State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company launched end-to-end power services for the 2026 Jiangsu City Football League match between Suzhou and Huai'an in Suzhou on May 2, which drew more than 30,000 spectators.
During the match, on-site staff were stationed at the stadium's power distribution room and main lighting control room, conducting regular temperature checks and real-time data monitoring of electrical equipment. Meanwhile, at the 220-kilovolt Yudong substation, three kilometers away from the venue, an intelligent inspection robot completed three full rounds of daily equipment patrols.
The company also built a sky-ground-space integrated smart power guarantee system, deploying drones and small FPV drones to patrol power transmission lines and laying distributed temperature-sensing optical fibers inside cable tunnels to monitor line operating conditions.
Preparations began three months in advance. The company upgraded more than 170 lighting units to LED systems, replaced 25 low-voltage distribution cabinets, and installed five Static Transfer Switches capable of millisecond-level power transfer in case of faults.
To accommodate the 30,000 spectators and a large number of new energy vehicle owners, the company also inspected 259 electric vehicle charging piles and introduced a charging service fee discount initiative. Additional safety checks were carried out at commercial areas and nearby restaurants.
Power stability was also extended to local scenic areas offering free entry for match ticket holders, with load forecasting and equipment inspections conducted to ensure uninterrupted supply during the event.
