In the early morning of March 8, over 60 maintenance workers gathered at the 500-kilovolt Chunhui Substation in Shangyu district, Shaoxing, for a safety briefing before replacing switches. Meanwhile, 116 kilometers away at the 500 kV Fengyi Substation in Shaoxing, another team of maintenance personnel was carrying out the replacement of a voltage-changing device on the Fengpai 4321 line. Operations underway at these two locations demonstrate the simultaneous advancement of two key ultra-high voltage projects, signaling the full launch of Shaoxing Power Grid's spring maintenance work for the Year of the Horse.
"As the first Grade II risk operation on the Zhejiang Power Grid after the Spring Festival, the Chunhui Substation project has made use of the planned outage window. Since March 3, we have been working to completely replace two 500 kV switches and one 220 kV switch through fully independent implementation. This task is projected to be completed within 10 days. This will eliminate such risks as guide ring loosening and switch overheating, thereby enhancing the operational reliability of the equipment," said Yang Jie, project manager of the Chunhui Substation project.

With the resumption of work and production across various enterprises after the Chinese New Year holiday, the load on the Shaoxing Power Grid is expected to gradually rise.
State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company has planned and implemented measures, such as segmenting the 220 kV busbar to avoid simultaneous outages of the main and auxiliary buses. This approach enables power supply during maintenance while ensuring safe operations, effectively narrowing the scope of power outages and guaranteeing reliable power supply to the adjacent 220 kV hub substation. This provides solid power support for the full resumption of work and production in surrounding areas.

For this year's spring maintenance, Shaoxing Power Supply Company plans to carry out 406 scheduled outages for main grid maintenance, covering a wide area and involving a large scale of work.
The spring maintenance work is already in full swing, laying the foundation for a strong start to the year. These efforts will further enhance the condition and operational reliability of Shaoxing Power Grid equipment, paving the way for the high-quality economic and social development of the region throughout 2026.
