State Grid Dingxi Power Supply Company: Power grid and railway join forces to protect lines and roads
The State Grid Dingxi Power Supply Company, in conjunction with the Lanzhou Power Supply Section of China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co and the Railway Public Security Bureau of China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co, recently launched an activity dubbed "Power Grid and Railway Join Forces to Protect Lines and Roads, Safeguarding People's Interests".
The three parties conducted joint special patrols on several important transmission lines spanning the Longhai Railway, working together to further consolidate the safety of both the railway and the power grid.
During the activity, the three organizations deployed backbone personnel with proficient professional skills and excellent work competencies to carry out joint patrols on key sections of the Longhai Railway.
They conducted all-round inspections on the operating status of power transmission line towers, conductors, insulators, and various types of hardware that cross the railway.
Meanwhile, they conducted a comprehensive assessment and registration of potential risks and hazards such as construction sites and tree obstacles along the railway and transmission lines.
The three parties also held in-depth exchanges on issues including equipment aging, external damage prevention and control, and climate impacts, and jointly discussed and formulated preventive measures and emergency plans.
They reached a consensus that in the past, railway operations and power line inspections were carried out independently, which resulted in certain blind spots in patrol coverage. This joint patrol has realized multi-party collaboration, resource sharing, and complementary advantages to successfully overcome that obstacle.
Transmission lines are vital to the safe and stable operation of the power grid as well as to the national economy and people's livelihoods.
As a major east-west artery for resource transportation in China, the safe operation of the Longhai Railway is also of crucial significance.
Through mutual exchange, learning, and resource-sharing among the three parties, potential equipment risks have been effectively addressed through early prevention, early detection, and early remediation.
This collaboration has also strengthened the coordinated operation and maintenance mechanism between the power and railway sectors, effectively improving the governance efficiency of both the power grid and the railway.
These efforts have together laid a solid foundation for the safe and stable operation of the power grid during the current winter and upcoming spring, as well as the smooth guarantee of the Spring Festival travel rush.
State Grid Dingxi will continue to strengthen cross-industry cooperation, further improve the regular mechanism for collaborative patrols and emergency linkage, and work together to build a win-win hidden danger prevention and control system for transmission lines, so as to fully safeguard the safe and stable operation of the Dingxi power grid.
