The National Zero-Carbon Rural Development Seminar was held in Zhejiang on Jan 16, with participating experts and scholars conducting in-depth field research in rural Zhejiang. The ongoing rural energy transformation driven by State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power showcased to the outside world how to translate the vision of zero carbon into vivid practices in the countryside.

Entering Xiajiang village, the scene of smart agriculture soon unfolds. Inside electrified greenhouses, temperature and humidity are automatically regulated, and irrigation and fertilization are precise and efficient. All of the equipment is connected to a smart energy platform, enabling real-time monitoring and the optimization of energy usage.

Local farmers can easily manage the greenhouses through mobile applications, achieving increased income while saving water and fertilizer.

Nearby, a rural charging station integrates photovoltaic power generation, energy storage batteries, and charging piles, forming a self-regulating green microgrid and serving as a model for rural clean energy utilization.

These initiatives mark a solid step taken by State Grid Zhejiang from "ensuring power supply" to "promoting transformation."

On the path to industrial revitalization, the role of power support is becoming increasingly prominent.

In Tadi village, the grain drying center has replaced traditional coal-fired methods with all-electric heat pump equipment, significantly improving energy efficiency and creating a cleaner production environment.

The power company proposed and assisted in developing the nearly 3,000-square-meter idle rooftop of the local agricultural service center into a photovoltaic power station, generating approximately 800,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, with the proceeds directly boosting the village's collective economic development.

High in the mountains, Hujiaping village exemplifies how power infrastructure development empowers remote mountainous areas. With the advancement of the paired assistance policy, State Grid Zhejiang simultaneously carried out grid upgrades, coordinating the undergrounding of power lines with scenic area construction. This has hugely elevated power supply reliability, providing solid support for rural tourism and industrial development.

These frontline practices have laid a solid foundation for the formulation of the "Zero-Carbon Rural Smart Energy Service Platform Construction Standards".

At the seminar, energy companies and experts from across the country discussed topics such as data aggregation, coordination of photovoltaic storage and charging, and benefit distribution, ensuring the standards are truly derived from and serve practical needs.

In rural Zhejiang, the concept of zero-carbon villages is no longer a distant ideal. It is reflected in smarter agriculture, cleaner industries, a more reliable power supply, and broader collective benefits.

Through continuous innovation and investment, State Grid Zhejiang is steadily advancing rural areas on the path of green transformation, painting an increasingly clear picture of a sustainable rural future.
