Wucheng, Shandong: Reliable power underpins transparent quality control, leading to major orders

Following the landing of a three-year supply contract with a client from Shanxi, the head of Shandong Huidong Fan praised the routine on-site support from the State Grid Wucheng County power-supply team on Jan 8.

He said that their transparent quality control system, which allows clients to view real-time inspection data remotely, had driven a surge in orders, and the dependable power support gave them confidence to pursue R&D and accept large contracts.

That same day, utility technicians conducted a comprehensive check on the plant's electrical equipment, ensuring a stable power supply for the surge in orders during Chinese New Year, which are ready for shipment.

Shandong Huidong Fan, a medium-to-large manufacturer of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning fans based in Wucheng county, fully deployed its self-developed transparent quality control system at the end of 2025.

The system integrates AI analytics with real-time IoT sensing, replacing manual inspection with intelligent algorithms. This shift from empirical judgment to data-driven decisions has eliminated inconsistencies and delays inherent in traditional methods.

Inspection efficiency has increased roughly tenfold, with accuracy on key parameters rising over 30 percent. The system proved decisive for a Shanxi client undergoing a premium product upgrade, whose demand for extreme supply-chain reliability and process controllability aligned perfectly with Huidong's transparent quality control capabilities.

The system's year-long development process required around-the-clock monitoring of hundreds of operational parameters like vibration, temperature, and pressure. Any power interruption would have caused significant losses.

To meet this critical need, the local utility established a dedicated on-call power-security protocol, ensuring immediate response with backup crews and mobile generators.

During the trials, the utility also stepped up patrols of relevant feeders and substations, using smart monitors to track grid conditions in real time, promptly addressing any anomalies to maintain network stability.

With R&D complete, the company entered the new year facing a sharp rise in orders, necessitating 24/7 production.

The head of marketing at State Grid Wucheng County Power Supply Company stressed that ensuring power supply during peak periods leaves no room for error.

To ensure reliable operation, dedicated account managers now visit regularly to discuss needs and monitor consumption data. This proactive approach has identified 18 potential risks, such as transformer capacity issues and aging lines.

Furthermore, by analyzing order forecasts, production schedules, and weather data, the utility generates 72-hour load predictions to collaboratively refine targeted power-assurance plans, keeping all production lines running at full capacity.

Supported by robust and stable electricity, Wucheng's fan manufacturers are transforming from traditional manufacturing to smart, connected operations.

This "intelligent transformation and digital evolution" model is the future of traditional manufacturing. Power assurance itself has evolved from manual maintenance to IoT-enabled intelligent control, becoming a key driver propelling local enterprises forward.
