Penglai's new wine festival blends wine excellence with festive tourism

The 2025 "Fairyland Coast" New Wine Festival kicked off in Penglai, Yantai, Shandong province, on Dec 27, marking the start of the city's Spring Festival tourism season.

The event showcased the craftsmanship of over 20 local wineries, presenting nearly 300 diverse wine varieties. Attendees were invited to explore the unique coastal terroir of Penglai through curated tastings and face-to-face interactions with renowned winemakers, offering a deep dive into the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

A diverse schedule of immersive activities has been designed to engage both connoisseurs and casual visitors. Highlights include a blind tasting challenge, specialized exhibitions of the season's new vintages, and the release of a commemorative wine celebrating the upcoming Year of the Horse.
