Providing reliable power for capital of China's premium wheat

"This year we have successfully developed more than 400 new varieties of wheat and fully utilized automated control technologies such as cloud irrigation systems, remote monitoring of soil moisture in farmland, and mobile intelligent water and fertilizer integrated machines to ensure the quality of wheat seeds. As irrigation technology advances with the times, a stable and reliable power supply has become crucial for supporting scientific breeding. On the same day, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company organized personnel to visit the wheat seed test field base of Henan Ping'an Seed Industry to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the irrigation equipment lines of the base and solicit electricity demands during the winter irrigation period.

As the capital of high-quality wheat in China and an important wheat seed breeding base in the Huang-Huai-Hai region, Jiaozuo, Henan province, has long maintained a stable wheat planting area of around 2.5 million mu (166,666.67 hectares), and its wheat seed breeding area accounts for a quarter of the total area of wheat seed bases in Henan province.

In response to the special circumstances such as the late sowing time of wheat this winter, less precipitation and concentrated electricity consumption during the winter irrigation period, State Grid Jiaozuo acted promptly. On the one hand, it strengthened the monitoring of agricultural line loads, rationally adjusted the operation mode of the power grid, and gave priority to ensuring the electricity demand for winter irrigation; On the other hand, the company organized personnel to study the policies on farmland irrigation services in depth, familiarize themselves with the business processes, standardize service behaviors, and smooth the power application channels to ensure that agricultural-related issues could be responded to and handled promptly.

At the same time, the company forged connections with key users such as seed producers, major grain producers, and agricultural machinery service stations, providing one-on-one, point-to-point, attentive services, proactively helping to solve electricity problems, providing guidance on proper electricity usage, and taking practical action to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply for winter irrigation, laying a solid foundation for stable and bountiful wheat production.
