A total of 250 kilograms of Dashishan-brand carbon-neutral white tea, developed through collaboration between State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company and Jiangsu Sukong Group, has been launched after certification by the Suzhou One-Stop Carbon Neutrality Inclusive Service Center.

This represents the first agricultural product in Changzhou to achieve such certification, not only addressing the previous absence of carbon-neutral products in the local market but also establishing a new model for dual-carbon economic development. This initiative serves as an exemplary case of State Grid's commitment to deeply integrating rural vitalization with dual-carbon objectives.

Carbon-neutral products are defined as those achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across their entire lifecycle through reduction and offset measures. The certification process for Dashishan carbon-neutral white tea was initiated by the green power, green certificate, and carbon services window of State Grid Changzhou.

Leveraging professional support from Suzhou Carbon Inclusive Service Center, the project connected local ecological white tea resources with new energy power generation assets from state-owned platforms, converting surplus photovoltaic electricity into carbon assets to enable low-carbon enhancement of agricultural products, providing a replicable implementation pathway.

As China's first market-oriented carbon inclusive trading system, the Suzhou Carbon Inclusive Service Center was jointly established by the Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee, the State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company, and the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange. Its streamlined "Certification Through Reduction" service process provided comprehensive support for the white tea's carbon neutrality certification. The initial phase involved Huace Certification conducting precise carbon accounting across the tea's cultivation, processing, packaging, and transportation lifecycle, determining total emissions of 18 metric tons for the 250-kilogram batch.

Guided by State Grid Changzhou, Sukong Group completed full electrification upgrades of tea processing facilities while implementing additional emission reduction measures, including carbon-sequestering tree planting and organic fertilizer application. The 1.7-megawatt distributed photovoltaic project under Sukong Group generated 619 tons of carbon assets, with 18 tons being purchased via the carbon-inclusive platform by Shuntai Agriculture to offset emissions. Following compliance review, the white tea received its Carbon Neutrality Certificate and unique blockchain traceability code, enabling consumers to access complete carbon information via QR code scanning.

The development of this carbon-neutral white tea increased its price by 20 percent, with the initial batch already securing multiple purchase intentions.

In recent years, State Grid Changzhou has leveraged local industrial characteristics to deeply integrate power services with dual-carbon goals and rural vitalization.

Through establishing carbon service windows, promoting green power applications, and advancing agricultural electrification, the company continues to activate new drivers for green development. The successful certification of carbon-neutral white tea provides a standardized pathway for agricultural product decarbonization.

Moving forward, State Grid Changzhou will further expand its energy and carbon service coverage, facilitating the transformation of more products from "green value" to "economic value," demonstrating how power services can vividly realize the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."
