Weihai installs anti-sand nets to protect beaches
In a big push to protect its coastline, Weihai has launched a new anti-sand initiative at its more popular beaches. Workers have installed over 2,500 meters of blue anti-sand nets along the shorelines, creating a crucial protective barrier against wind-driven sand.

These nets are constructed from high-density polyethylene with a specialized mesh, which blocks both sand and wind effectively. The barrier's structure is supported by a corrosion-resistant galvanized steel framework, ensuring durability against the harsh, salty coastal environment.
With the nets in place, Weihai's popular beaches are better equipped to withstand seasonal sandstorms, ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more pleasant environment for residents and tourists. This initiative is part of the city's ongoing efforts to enhance environmental protection and ensure that its coastal attractions remain a haven for tourism. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
