Weihai launches citywide campaign to boost disaster preparedness
Weihai is intensifying efforts to build a safer and more resilient community. As part of the 2025 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Weihai Water Resources Bureau took part in a city-organized public education campaign aimed at equipping residents with essential emergency skills.
During the event, bureau staff engaged the public through informational materials, on-site consultations, and demonstrations based on real-world case studies. Residents received crucial training on skills such as responding to drowning emergencies, performing effective first aid, and monitoring weather forecasts and flood warnings during the rainy season. The campaign also offered practical lessons on proper escape methods in mountain flood scenarios.
A key message highlighted the importance of resilience-building in everyday life. By encouraging citizens to participate in disaster prevention and embrace the principle that preparedness comes before response, Weihai aims to strengthen community-wide awareness and safeguard public safety.
