Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park's new-generation information technology industry cluster has been rated as "excellent" in Shandong province's latest assessment of strategic emerging industry clusters. The announcement, released by the Shandong Development and Reform Commission, places the park among the top-performing innovation hubs in the province.

The new-generation IT sector has become one of the park's most dynamic industrial pillars. In recent years, the park has developed a model focused on specialized investment promotion and cluster-based industrial growth, along with efforts to strengthen the entire value chain. This cohesive approach has accelerated the formation of a competitive innovation ecosystem and positioned the cluster as a key driver of regional economic transformation.

Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park has been recognized as a national five-star industrialization demonstration base for electronic information for two consecutive years. Today, it hosts more than 500 leading enterprises in the new-generation IT field. This includes one national-level manufacturing champion, three provincial champions, and a base of specialized and innovative firms, specifically four national-level "little giants" and 30 at the provincial level. The cluster's diverse products span over a dozen categories, from printing devices and electronic components to Internet of Things (IoT) systems, cloud computing, and cybersecurity technologies.

Looking ahead, Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park plans to continue strengthening the cluster through optimized allocation of talent, capital, and innovation resources. By improving coordination and cluster performance, the park aims to expand its role as a model for high-quality industrial development and contribute to Shandong's broader transition toward green, low-carbon growth.
