Step into the succulent plant base in Daitianji town, Chengwu county, Shandong, and visitors will be greeted by a healing vista: thousands of plump, charming succulents neatly arranged, each one uniquely elegant or delightfully playful.
Here, base manager Liu Dandan is often seen live-streaming from her phone. She offers professional care tips for different varieties while simultaneously handling a flood of online orders from viewers. This powerful combination of cultivation and live-streaming drives the base's remarkable sales, which exceed 100,000 annually.
In recent years, Chengwu county has actively seized the opportunities presented by rural e-commerce. By organizing digital skills training, establishing platforms that connect producers directly to consumers, and implementing supportive entrepreneurship policies, the county is paving the way for a new generation of farmers.
A growing number of returning migrants are now realizing their entrepreneurial dreams on the wings of this e-commerce boom. Their success is ensuring that distinctive local agricultural products are able to be sold nationwide, injecting new energy into the county's rural vitalization. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
