Weihai district adds new stem cell donor

The Wendeng district of Weihai held a heartfelt send-off ceremony for Zhao Pengchao, a volunteer hematopoietic stem cell donor traveling to Jinan to complete his donation. Zhao is the first Wendeng government employee to be successfully matched as a donor, and the 24th donor in the district's hematopoietic stem cell donation records.

Zhao decided to donate after learning he was a match for a patient battling a blood disorder. Without hesitation, he underwent the necessary medical tests and physical exams, ultimately confirming his eligibility to donate. His commitment led to the simple yet powerful declaration: "I'm willing."

Zhao's decision has brought renewed hope to a patient in need. He expressed deep pride in being able to contribute to society and hopes his example will inspire others to become stem cell donors.
