Juxian county, Shandong: Full power support for busy autumn farming season
During the current critical period of autumn harvesting, planting, and management, continuous rainy weather has posed severe challenges to grain harvesting, drying, and storage. State Grid Juxian Power Supply Company has taken proactive measures and multiple steps to support Juxian county's "Three Autumns" tasks (harvesting, plowing, and planting) with reliable electricity and efficient services, fully securing the grain supply for local farmers.
On Oct 16, Zhu Qingzhu, a villager from Zhujiakezhuang village in Changling town, Juxian county, Rizhao, Shandong province, gazed anxiously at his nearly ripened peanuts. The electrical equipment for peanut picking had not yet been installed, and without timely power supply, the peanuts could not be processed on time, potentially leading to losses due to weather changes.
After learning about the situation during an agricultural electricity inspection, the Changling Power Supply Office quickly opened a "green channel" for business expansion. They immediately conducted an on-site survey to develop a power supply plan and hurried to lay cables, install meters, and debug equipment. In just half a day, power was successfully connected to the peanut picking machine. As the machine whirred to life, Zhu's face lit up with a joyful smile. He exclaimed excitedly, "Now I no longer have to worry about peanut picking!"
Newly harvested grains often have excessively high moisture levels, making drying crucial for ensuring grain quality and storage safety. State Grid Juxian Power Supply Company surveyed nine grain drying service points across the county, creating "electricity usage files" for autumn grain drying based on the type and power of drying equipment, as well as the corresponding power lines and transformer areas. Using tools like infrared thermometers and drones, they conducted comprehensive inspections of agricultural power supply lines and distribution transformer areas. Additionally, they proactively coordinated with the county grain and reserve service center and the agriculture and rural affairs bureau to jointly conduct safety checks on agricultural electricity use, promptly addressing potential hazards.
"Power voltage is qualified, switch equipment is operating normally..." Amid the roaring machinery and deafening fans at the drying facility of Juxian Huizhong Agricultural Comprehensive Development Professional Cooperative, Shao Changtuan and Liu Minxian, grid managers from Liuguanzhuang Power Supply Office, were inspecting the power supply lines, transformers, leakage protection devices, and electric heating wire equipment on Oct 13. They also provided guidance on equipment maintenance techniques and energy-saving measures.
"The drying equipment runs 24 hours a day, and our biggest fear is power supply issues. The technicians from the power supply office frequently come to inspect, which gives us great peace of mind," said Shao Mingzhong, head of the professional cooperative. "We can currently dry over 60 metric tons of corn daily, and we no longer have to worry about grain mold!"
From opening green channels and strengthening the grid to precisely addressing needs, State Grid Juxian Power Supply Company has provided "full power" support and "zero time lag" quality services, ensuring the smooth completion of autumn grain harvesting and contributing to the successful conclusion of the "Three Autumns" agricultural production in Juxian county.
