State Grid Sanmenxia: Enhanced inspections protect grid security
After days of heavy rain, crews from the State Grid Sanmenxia Lushi County Power Supply Company took advantage of the good weather on Oct 21 to launch comprehensive inspections of local lines and equipment.
The goal was to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring the power grid remains secure and stable.
The recent prolonged downpours across Sanmenxia, Henan province, have saturated the soil, significantly increasing the risk of geological disasters. This poses a direct threat to the safe operation of the power grid.
In response, State Grid Sanmenxia has implemented integrated planning and stricter controls, intensifying patrols to accelerate the detection and repair of defects. This proactive approach is crucial for maintaining a reliable electricity supply.
The company is strengthening coordination with meteorological, water-resource, and natural-resource departments. This collaboration provides real-time data on rainfall, water levels, and geological hazards, enabling swift and well-targeted deployments.
Key infrastructure is receiving special attention, with enhanced patrols and 24/7 monitoring for lines crossing high-speed rail, highways, critical power corridors, and riverbanks vulnerable to erosion.
A detailed tracking system for defects has been established, specific solutions assigned, responsible personnel dispatched, and firm deadlines set for every identified issue to ensure all problems are resolved.
Looking ahead, State Grid Sanmenxia will continue to monitor weather conditions closely, increase inspection frequencies, and refine its emergency response plans.
These efforts provide a solid foundation for the local power grid, supporting both economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
